Per the owner, as of February 10, 2025, The original MSCN site was deemed unfeasible due to high upgrade costs, with construction alone estimated at $4M–$7M, pushing the total project cost beyond $10M. Given budget constraints, the City selected the Utility Field Office as the new location. The owner states that they will be using internal staff support to do the upgrades and stay within a small budget of $1.3 million total. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. ............. This change of use will require significant renovations involving the following, but not limited to a seismic retrofit, ADA improvements, a sprinkler system, HVAC and electrical upgrades, a transfer switch for a permanent or portable standby power unit, and comprehensive IT improvements.
