Notice Content ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS BOROUGH OF LAVALLETTE OCEAN COUNTY, NJ NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT SEALED BIDS ENTITLED: "BROOKLYN AVENUE AND BALTIMORE AVENUE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS" will be received by the Borough of Lavallette at the Lavallette Municipal Building, 1306 Grand Central Avenue, Lavallette, New Jersey 08735 (732) 793-7477 at 10:30 AM prevailing time on August 17, 2023, and will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids submitted prior to this time must be submitted to Ms. Donnelly Amico, Clerk, Borough of Lavallette, 1306 Grand Central, Lavallette, New Jersey 08735. Deviation from this submittal procedure will subject the proposal to rejection. The work of this Contract includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: ROADWAY RECONSTRUCTION OF BROOKLYN AVENUE AND BALTIMORE AVENUE CONSISTING OF PAVEMENT RECONSTRUCTION INCLUDING APPROXIMATELY 5,570 SY VARYING DEPTH MILLING; 46 TONS HOT MIX ASPHALT BASE AND 736 TONS SURFACE COURSE; 1,054 LF OF CONCRETE VERTICAL CURB RECONSTRUCTION; TRAFFIC STRIPING; AND ALL WORK NECESSARY AND INCIDENTAL THERETO. Each Proposal must be submitted utilizing the forms contained within the Contract Documents. It must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing on the outside the name of the BIDDER, his address and name of Project(s) for which the Bid is submitted. Materials to be contained within the sealed envelope are specified under "Instructions to Bidders." Bid Proposals shall be complete, in ink, and any Bids incomplete or not submitted in a sealed, specially addressed envelope may be considered informal. Contract Documents may be obtained during normal business hours from the office of the Borough's Engineer, Van Cleef Engineering Associates, LLC, 1705 Route 37 East, Toms River, New Jersey 08753; (732) 573-0490 on or after Friday, August 4, 2023 upon the payment of the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00); any Bidder who requests the forwarding of Bidding Documents by mail should include an ADDITIONAL $30.00 to cover postage and handling. The payment shall be in a check form and shall be drawn Payable to Van Cleef Engineering Associates, LLC. Payment will not be refunded and the Contract Documents need not be returned. Each Bid must be accompanied by a proposal guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond or Certified Check for an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the full amount of each Contract Bid, not to exceed $20,000. Surety shall be made payable to: Borough of Lavallette, and shall be without condition or qualification. All Bidders shall be required to comply with Chapter 127, P.L. 1975, c. 127, requiring each Bidder and each Subcontractor to formulate and submit to the proper authorized representative of the State of New Jersey an Affirmative Action Program of equal opportunity which guarantees minorities employment in all categories. --Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et. Seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. --All Bidders must also comply with the Prevailing Wage Act, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq. and the N.J.S.A. 34:1B-5.1, Chapter 150, Laws of 1963. The Borough reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any and all Bids, if it is in the public interest to do so.
