Renovation of an educational facility in Georgia, Vermont. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 55,500-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.

The Georgia Elementary School (4416 Ethan Allen Highway, St. Albans Vt. 05478) is seeking qualified bids for a Boiler Replacement Project The Georgia Elementary and Middle School facility serves Pre-K to 8th grade students, and consists of three buildings - A, B, & C - totaling over 100,000 of floor area. These buildings consist of classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, storage, mechanical and electrical rooms. Building A is a roughly 14,000 sq. ft.single story building and Building B is a roughly 41,500 sq. ft. two-story building. Heating for the facility is provided through two hot water systems, one for Buildings A and B, and one for Building C. Each system includes gas-fired boilers, circulation pumps, and various hydronic accessories, and serves air handling units, heat recovery ventilation units, fan coil units, duct coils, unit heaters, cabinet unit heaters, convectors and fin tube radiators. The central heating plant serving Buildings A & B is over 30 years old and is considered to be at the end of its useful life. This project consists of replacing the boilers, circulation pumps, expansion tank, air separator, controls and associated piping and valves which are part of this system. Domestic hot water for Buildings A & B is required for numerous sinks and is provided by a single gas-fired storage-type water heater which has also reached the end of its useful life and will be replaced as part of this project. Controls at the facility are currently a mixture of older pneumatic and newer electronic. Any pneumatic controls serving equipment which will be replaced as part of this project will be replaced with new electronic controls. Energy efficiency of the equipment and system will be improved where feasible to reduce ongoing operating expenses The Georgia Elementary and Middle School facility consists of three connected buildings: A, B, and C. Buildings A&B share a separate hot water heating system serving air handling and fan coil units. This project consists of replacing the existing gas-fired hot water boilers, hot water circulation pumps, domestic water heater, and associated accessories and controls for the hot water system serving Buildings A&B, all of which have reached the end of their useful lives with new equipment. The intent of the project is also to use new, more energy efficient equipment including variable speed pumps, condensing gas-fired boilers and reducing the system water temperature, and an electric heat pump water heater rather than a gas-fired one Question Deadline 09/05/2023 Direct questions to Engineer, email; nthiltgen@dubois-king.com.
