Spokane County seeks the services of consultants with expertise in Geotechnical Engineering. Some of the funding for these projects is from Federal sources. The County makes no guarantee regarding the ultimate value of the work to be performed. The following are Federal Aid projects with a project description and tasks which may be required for each project: Federal Funding Projects: Harvard Road Reconstruction, Spokane River Bridge to BNSF/SR290, CRP#3078 STPUL-4101(001): Perform soil investigations and analysis, recommendation of road cut and fill slopes, pavement thickness design, shrink and swell factors for soil in excavation, location of unsuitable material, structural earth walls, prepare reports that will include recommendations for settlement, slope stability, design alternatives and special construction methods required to construct. Cascade Way Reconstruction, Wall St to Normandie St. CRP#3314 STPGUL-3958(003): Perform soil investigations and analysis, recommendation of road cut and fill slopes, pavement thickness design, shrink and swell factors for soil in excavation, location of unsuitable material, structural earth walls, prepare reports that will include recommendations for settlement, slope stability, design alternatives and special construction methods required to construct. Appleway Wellesley Roundabout CRP#3288 HSIP-3892(001) Perform soil investigations and analysis, recommendation of road cut and fill slopes, pavement thickness design, shrink and swell factors for soil in excavation, location of unsuitable material, structural earth walls, prepare reports that will include recommendations for settlement, slope stability, design alternatives and special construction methods required to construct. Bridge Projects: Chattaroy Road Bridge No #3801 Replacement: Perform soil investigations and analysis, recommendation of footing types including spread footings, pile and drilled shafts, road cut and fill slopes, pavement thickness design, shrink and swell factors for soil in excavation, location of unsuitable material, structural earth walls, prepare reports that will include recommendations for allowable bearing, pile and drilled shaft capacity, lateral soil loading, settlement, slope stability and bridge pier scour, design alternatives and special construction methods required to construct new bridge and/or roadways. Colbert Road Bridge No #3703 Replacement: Perform soil investigations and analysis, recommendation of footing types including spread footings, pile and drilled shafts, road cut and fill slopes, pavement thickness design, shrink and swell factors for soil in excavation, location of unsuitable material, structural earth walls, prepare reports that will include recommendations for allowable bearing, pile and drilled shaft capacity, lateral soil loading, settlement, slope stability and bridge pier scour, design alternatives and special construction methods required to construct new bridge and/or roadways. The following are specific tasks that may be required: Provides general surveying services and assists with matters pertaining to land surveying. Typical tasks will include but are not limited to: Conduct Geotechnical subsurface investigations. Perform retaining wall and slope stability design. Provide foundation recommendations and design parameters. Provide design alternatives. Provide support for special construction methods. Provide construction support. Provide road cut/fill slope recommendations. Perform pavement thickness designs. Prepare Geotechnical reports
