In 2008, the State passed AB 1144 which mandates that all play equipment constructed between 1994 and 1999 be replaced or upgraded within 15 years of installation. Replacements are to take place in FY 2025-26 at Devaul Ranch Park, Vista Lago Mini Park, and Laguna Hills Park. This project is included in the City of San Luis Obispo's FY 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Per the owner, as of October 9, 2023, a design team has been selected and are under contract for the DeVaul Park and the Vista Largo Park. The owner states that the city is currently not pursuing the Laguna Hills Park at this time. The owner states that they are reviewing the initial concept designs with an expectation for 50% construction designs to be reviewed in the late winter of 2024. The owner states that based on those reviews, progress will continue with the 90% construction documents with an anticipated RFP for construction to go out to bid in late summer or early fall 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
