Site work and paving for a road / highway in Golden, Colorado. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
UPDATE : Ford Street Trail Underpass Project is in City of Golden capital budget fy 2025-2026 CIP ________________________________________________________________________ Thirty-seven entities across the state will share more than $42 million in grants as part of the Colorado Department of Transportation's Transportation Alternatives Program, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announced in a July 20 news release. TAP projects are selected through a competitive scoring process. CDOT then distributes a federally funded grant. Participating entities are required to fund 20% of the project amount. The program emphasizes projects that expand travel options, enhance safety, improve the local economy while protecting the environment. In the Denver metro area, the program is funding the following projects for fiscal years 2024 to 2026: o Peaks to Plains Trail Improvements, Wheat Ridge ($951,709) -- Several sections of trail would be reconstructed to a 10-foot standard width and connected to Marshall St. and Creekside Park. o Northeast Trails to Transit Connectivity Project, Denver ($1.1 million) -- New sections of the First Creek Trail in Green Valley Ranch would be built out. o Sanderson Gulch Trail, Denver ($2.5 million) -- This project constructs a new underpass at Florida Ave., widens the existing trail to 10 feet and adds three feet of crusher fines (small particles of hard-rock quarry that can be used as a surface cover for paths). o 120th Avenue Complete Streets, Broomfield ($2.3 million) -- Plans address aging infrastructure in Broomfield while enhancing multimodal connections within the municipality with bike lanes, lighting, and detached sidewalks along W. 120th Ave. o Ford Street, Golden ($1.2 million) --This would design a complete street corridor between CO 58 and CO 93, improving multimodal connections to existing trails. o Interstate 70 Trail Geological Point of Interest - Jefferson County Open Space ($1.8 million) -- The project rehabilitates two historic Point of Geological Interest trails along the I-70 rock cut through the Dakota Hogback. o Mary Carter Greenway - U.S. 285 Underpass, Sheridan ($752,000) -- Plans call for widening the South Platte River Trail segment under U.S. 285 to meet USDOT shared-use path width standards. Several other projects -- with grants ranging from $360,720 to $2.5 million -- are scattered throughout Colorado. "These grants will help make dozens of Colorado communities more vibrant by making it easier to get around," said CDOT Executive Director Shoshana Lew in a news release. "By offering more choices and options, and making sure those options are high-quality, we are making important improvements to these spaces." Funding for the projects was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law signed by President Biden in 2021. The act provides $550 billion over the fiscal years 2022 through 2026 in infrastructure including roads, bridges, mass transit, water and broadband, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration.
