For more information, please contact the JEA Buyer at: David King at kinggd@jea.com Contractor shall excavate and backfill contaminated sediments from a drainage ditch located at Northside Generating Station's former chemical waste surface impoundment area as part of a Florida Department of Environmental Protection RCRA Consent Order. During the excavation of sediments, the contractor shall be responsible for the design and installation of a dewatering system, if necessary. Sump areas shall be installed, as needed, for the bypass pump operations to divert water within the existing ditch downstream to an existing weir. The contractor will also be responsible for installing a soil cap and restoring an existing access road. Please note the health and safety requirements outlined in the Technical Specifications. Previous environmental assessments and geophysical surveys indicate that the soils and groundwater may be impacted with arsenic, nickel, and vanadium and the CONTRACTOR should be prepared for these conditions. Copies of 40-hour HAZWOPER and current certification documenting compliance with training and health monitoring shall be provided by the CONTRACTOR for all on-site personnel prior to commencing field activities.
