The Prudence Island Water District (PIWD) is seeking sealed Bids for the Water System Chlorination and Pretreatment project. In general and without limitation, the work to be done under this contract includes the construction of a drinking water treatment plant including but not limited to furnishing and installing; wood framed building and foundation; site preparation, grading, and restoration; yard piping, fittings, valves, hydrant, and appurtenances; infiltration basin; a packaged greensand pressure filtration system; backwash supply tank and pump; process piping and valves; pumps; chemical feed systems; instrumentation and controls; facility HVAC and electrical; start-up and performance testing. All Bidders must comply with the State of Rhode Island requirements regarding the participation of minority/women's business enterprises (MBE/WBE's) or DBE in the performance of this contract. The successful bidder will be required to include in their bid documents for subcontractors and MBE/WBE's "Fair Share" percentage which totals at least 10 percent (10%) of the dollar value of the entire procurement or project Bid Security in the form identified within the Instruction to Bidders, and in the amount of five (5) percent of the total Bid amount, must accompany each bid. (SCO@h2olsonengineering.com) The successful Bidder must furnish a Performance and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, in the specific formats as attached herein, both for the full value of the Bid Price, along with all required insurance certificates, within ten (10) calendar days after the award date in order to execute a Contract. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within sixty (60) days following the closing time for receipt of Bids Time of completion is set at 400 days following the Notice to Proceed to complete all work. Liquidated damages will be in the amount of $1,500.00 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for substantial completion. The PIWD reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularity in the Bids received, and to accept the Bid or parts thereof deemed to be most favorable to the best interest of the PIWD.
