WLU is soliciting proposals for the Services - Reupholster of existing fixed Theater Seats in Maureen Forrester Recital Hall. It is Wilfrid Laurier University's intention to enter into an agreement with only one (1) legal entity. The term of the agreement is to be for a period of 24 months with an option in favour of Wilfrid Laurier University to extend the agreement on the same terms and conditions for an additional term of up to 12 additional months, for a total of 36 months. The University is seeking proposals to provide the service to refinish (fabric, foam and armrests) existing fixed theatre seating in Maureen Forrester Recital Hall. The successful proponent will review the existing chair seats, backs and aisle panels for replacement fabric and foam, and existing armrests for replacement or refinishing and provide a proposal and quote for appropriate replacement solutions. Existing theatre chairs are 35-40 years old with a metal seat bottom and metal frames, riser mounted. The intent is to maintain the acoustic properties of the theatre by maintaining the chair frames and metal seat bottom while upgrading the comfort and appearance of the chairs. The preferred solution will include materials with recycled content or post-consumer content and a desired installation completion in December 2023.
