The Recreation and Parks Department is accepting proposals for the Guy Smith Stadium Improvements Phase I. Questions about this proposal should be directed to Mark Nottingham, Parks Planner via email: mnottingham@greenvillenc.gov. Summary Project Description: Renovation of an existing baseball stadium. Changes include: new fencing, relocating warning track along fence lines, new batting cages, field equipment, repair landscaping. The goal for Minority and / or Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) participation is MBE 10% and WBE 6%. Each goal must be met separately. Exceeding one goal does not satisfy requirements for the other. If applicable, each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond executed by a corporate security licensed to do so under North Carolina law, of an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the proposal, or in lieu thereof, a bidder may offer a certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Each bidder's deposit, except for the bidder to whom the contract is awarded, shall be returned after the contract awarded. The City shall retain the bid deposit of the bidder to whom the contract is awarded if the bidder fails to execute the contract within ten days after the award. C. To whom the contract is awarded, and if required by North Carolina General Statute, a Performance and Payment Bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. D. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days after the bid date. E. The City of Greenville reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
