Renovation of a water / sewer project in Marathon, Florida. Working plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
As of October 28, 2025, this project is on hold with no indication of when it might be picked back up. No definite date for the rebid. The City is proposing to install a vinyl cell sheet pile flood wall around the City of Marathon Area 6 Wastewater Treatment Plant with three flood barriers and automatic access gates. The flood wall consists of vinyl cells embedded 13ft below existing grade (min) with top elevation of 12.5 NGVD. 4" SCH40 Steel Pin Piles will be spaced at 7ft on-center with an embedment of 18ft. The top of the wall shall have a continuous poured pile cap reinforced with fiberglass rebar. See bid set plans for more details. BID SECURITY (BID BOND): 5% Contract Term. The Work shall be substantially completed within Three Hundred (300) calendar days after the date specified in the Notice to Proceed (Substantial Completion), and fully completed and ready for final payment in accordance with the Contract Document within Three Hundred Thirty (330) calendar days after the date specified in the Notice to Proceed (Final Completion). The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities, except timely submission of bids, in any bids received, to re-advertise for bids or to take any other such actions that may be deemed in the best interests of the City
