Lee County desires to contract with a qualified Contractor to perform utility work, roadway and drainage improvements on Corkscrew Road from Bella Terra Boulevard to Alico Road in Estero, Florida. Work will consist of the following: Road widening with drainage improvements. Removal and relocation of existing utilities. Open cuts and directional drills. Storm water management facility (pond). Installation of force main, raw water main, and water main. Streetlights, traffic signal, fiber optics installation. Landscaping and irrigation system. The Work includes: 1. Furnishing of all labor, material, superintendence, plant, power, light, heat, fuel, water, tools, appliances, equipment, supplies, services and other means of construction necessary or proper for performing and completing the Work. 2. Sole responsibility for adequacy of plant and equipment. 3. Maintaining the Work area and site in a clean and acceptable manner. 4. Maintaining existing facilities in service at all times except where specifically provided for otherwise herein. 5. Protection of finished and unfinished Work. 6. Repair and restoration of Work damaged during construction. 7. Furnishing as necessary proper equipment and machinery, of a sufficient capacity, to facilitate the Work and to handle all emergencies normally encountered in Work of this character. 8. Furnishing, installing, and protecting all necessary guides, track rails, bearing plates, anchor and attachment bolts, and all other appurtenances needed for the installation of the devices included in the equipment specified. Make anchor bolts of appropriate size, strength and material for the purpose intended. Furnish substantial templates and shop drawings for installation. The Work to be done under this Contract consists of the utility relocation in connection with the Corkscrew Road Widening Phase 2 project. The Work for the water system portion of this project includes furnishing and installing approximately 7,800 LF of water main (various types and sizes) via open cut; one directional drill (340 LF), 13 gate valves (various sizes), 1 air release valve, 2 fire hydrants, 4 water main connections of various sizes, and the abandoning and removal of approximately 8000 LF of water main (various sizes). The :ork for the raw water main portion of this project includes furnishing and installing approximately 2,300 LF of raw water main (various types and sizes) via open cut method and the abandoning and removal of approximately 2300 LF of raw water main (various sizes).
