This specification covers the contract representing significant elements of work for the Contractor to design, fabricate, and install fall protection systems on the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, SEPTA, Railroad Division, RRD, Neshaminy Line, Raritan Canal Under Grade Bridge, UGB, at Mile Post, MP, 31.64 in Ewing Township, NJ. The Work shall include the following: 1. Design of a safety net system that meets the requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Railroad Administration Regulation, Part Number 214, Subpart B, Duty To have Fall Protection. a. The system is to be installed to serve as fall protection for SEPTA employees while performing renewal of bridge timbers over the structure. Therefore, after the system is installed, it shall not interfere nor prevent the removal and installation of any track components, walkways, or handrails on this structure. 2. Certification and testing of the system. 3. Fabrication and installation of all components of the system. 4. Removal and clean-up of all components of the system after the trackwork has been completed.
