Renovation of an educational facility in Marks, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of October 16,2023 this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on November 15, 2023. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities, also to withhold the acceptance of any bid if approved, for forty-five calendar days from the date bids are opened. Contract Provisions are based on guidance from the Mississippi Attorney General's Office as it relates to contracts with public entities in Mississippi and from the Mississippi Department of Education as it relates to the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER) and other federal funding guidelines. Certain provisions are not subject to waiver or modification by the Owner. All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, and must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or a Bid Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Mississippi. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $1,000.00 per day for each calendar day the work is not substantially complete. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and a Payment Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Mississippi, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount.
