This project consists of full depth repair at the joints and replacement of failing concrete pavement panels on SW 21st Street from SW Indian Trail to SW Burnett Road. AGGREGATE BASE - TYPE AB-3. This bid item shall be used to repair the subgrade, as needed and as determined by the Construction Inspector. Excavation of any existing unsuitable subgrade material is subsidiary to this bid item. AGGREGATE BASE - TYPE AB-3 shall be paid for at the unit price per Ton, using an assumed unit weight of 156 pcf. This shall be full compensation for all hauling, placing, grading compaction, trimming, and curing as specified; and for all labor, equipment, materials, tools, and incidentals necessary to complete the work as specified. TRAFFIC CONTROL. This bid item shall include placement, maintenance, and removal of all work zone traffic, parking, and/or pedestrian control devices as required for this project to meet MUTCD and City of Topeka standard drawings. The Contractor shall submit a detailed construction phasing plan and traffic control plan to the City for review and approval prior to beginning construction on this project. The traffic control plan shall include layouts and locations for all signs, barricades, and all other traffic control devices necessary to provide for the movement and access of traffic during all phases of construction. The layouts and locations of all devices included in the traffic control plan shall conform to the MUTCD and the applicable City of Topeka standard drawings. TRAFFIC CONTROL shall be paid for on a Lump Sum basis, which will be full compensation for providing, installing, adjusting, maintaining, resetting as needed, and removal of work zone traffic and/or pedestrian control devices; and for all labor, equipment, materials, tools, supplies, and incidentals necessary to complete the work as specified for TRAFFIC CONTROL. CONSTRUCTION LIMITS. All work will be accomplished within the right-of-way. The Contractor is responsible for locating all utilities prior to beginning work. SC-7. CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION. City personnel will inspect all work. A Construction Inspector will be assigned to the project.
