The City of Milford seeks quotations for the replacement of existing lead service lines with SDR-9 water piping from the meter pit to inside the house. The aim is to ensure the safety and quality of our water supply by eliminating lead contamination risks and providing a long-lasting solution for our valued customers. 1. Removal and replacement of approximately 700 existing lead service lines with 1" SDR-9 water piping according to the local plumbing codes and regulations. The charge for service lines shall be per foot and includes the connection at the earliest available point in the house and at the meter pit. The average service line length is anticipated to be 30 feet. 2. Proper testing and inspection of the installed piping system to ensure its functionality and integrity. 3. Restoration of any affected surfaces, including sidewalks, driveways, landscaping, or other disturbed areas, to their original condition. 4. Provision of an NSF-approved filter for lead removal, to be installed at each affected property. This item shall be a single cost item for procurement and installation of the filter and must include 6 months of filtering capability.
