General work description: The work to be done generally consists of replacing existing guardrails including posts, railing, and end treatments with Caltrans standard Midwest Guardrail System (MGS). Guardrail will have both wood and steel posts. Additional work includes installing concrete anchor blocks and replacing small retaining walls. Work is to occur in the Briones Area, along the following roadways; Reliez Valley Road, Alhambra Valley Road, and Bear Creek Road. If your bid is greater than $25,000, submit your bid with one of the following forms of bidder's security equal to at least 10 percent of the bid: 1. Cashier's check 2. Certified check 3. Signed bidders bond by an admitted surety insurer Make the bidders security payable to the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, State of California. 1. Payment bond to secure the claim payments of laborers, workers, mechanics, or materialmen providing goods, labor, or services under the Contract. This bond must be equal to at least 100 percent of the total bid. 2. Performance bond to guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract. This bond must be equal to at least 100 percent of the total bid. Engineers cost estimate: $1,620,000. Number of Working Days: 45.
