Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in City of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.

**As of October 26, 2023, project was awarded to H&K Group, Inc. awarded amount is $15,727,892.81. ** This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary for the replacement of two structures over I-476, NB-637 on SR 2007 (Laurel Run Road) and NB-638 on Ramp AB of the Wilkes-Barre Interchange. The existing SR 2007 structure (NB-637) is a steel thru-plate girder bridge and will be replaced by a two-span continuous spread box beam bridge. The existing Ramp AB structure (NB638) is a three-span steel I-beam bridge and will be replaced by a two-span continuous composite steel plate girder bridge. The project also includes slope repair, roadway resurfacing, drainage improvements, postconstruction stormwater controls, guide rail upgrades, minor roadway approach work and Maintenance and Protection of Traffic. 18,558 CY Excavation, Various Classes 14,460 CY Waste Material 1,837 TON Superpave Wearing Course, Various Types and Depths 2,839 TON Superpave Binder Course, Various Types and Depths 1,299 TON Superpave Base Course, Various Types and Depths 2,814 TON Subbase No 2A, Various Depths 7,081 CY Selected Borrow Exc. Structure Backfill 941 LF Drainage Pipe, Various Types and Sizes 1,538 LF Pavement Base Drain 1,687.5 LF Type 31-S Guide Rail 1,374 CY Class A Cement Concrete 858 LF Prestressed Concrete Beams 322,404 LB Reinforcement Bars, Epoxy Coated 3,984 LF Steel Beam Bearing Piles, 12 x 74 277,062 LB Fabricated Structural Steel An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.)
