The City of Wimberley is seeking competitive sealed proposals from qualified, licensed trail contractors to provide final design and renovation services for ~ 1 mile of existing trail at Blue Hole Regional Park. Any questions regarding this RFP must be submitted by e-mail to the Parks Director at rshaver@cityofwimberley.com Questions Due Date - September 15, 2023 @ 5 p.m The Hike and Bike Trail Improvement Project includes renovating and improving an existing ~1 mile long 8-10 ft. wide section of linear hike and bike trail at Blue Hole Regional Park. The project will resurface the existing trail with substrate material and stabilized decomposed granite, (StaLok) where needed and add grading to slopes greater than 4%. This section is about one-third of a 3.1-mile-long hike and bike trail with the other two-thirds of the trail being owned by Hays County. The original construction of the trail failed to properly grade slopes greater than 4%. That combined with decomposed granite laid on top of weed barrier cloth, causes severe washout during heavier rain events. No other amenities are being added during this project. The City of Wimberley hopes to partner with a qualified youth core (if available) to help complete this project.
