Vilas County is requesting separate sealed bids to provide a Salt/Sand Storage Building for the Vilas County Highway Department Arbor Vitae shop located at 10718 STH 70, Arbor Vitae, WI 54568. Specifications and Bid Proposal Form are enclosed. The Highway Committee reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid which may be most advantageous to Vilas County. It is required that the contractor review the work to be completed with Highway Department Staff on site prior to bidding, so all parties have a clear understanding of the work to be completed under this proposal. The project is funded by federal funds issued through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. It is required that all contractors submitting a bid be registered on the SAM.gov website to be eligible to receive federal awards and not be debarred from receiving federal awards. Contractors not eligible to receive federal awards through the SAM.gov website will result in disqualification of the bid. The work under this item shall consist of design, furnishing and installing a complete salt/sand shed structure. 2) The building shall be weather tight, and suitable for the storage of salt/sand and other materials used for roadway abrasives. The design of the foundations of the building shall be provided as part of the manufacturer's building design, based on information obtained by means of a subsurface investigation and geotechnical analysis provided by the contractor.
