This contract shall provide for rehabilitation of the Burnet Street Lift Station, Orange County WCID No. 2. The lift station is located approximately 1,500 feet west of the intersection of Burnet Street and Irving Street (FM2177) in the City of West Orange. This contract shall include all necessary superintendence, labor, equipment, tools, materials, safety measures, environmental protection, disposal of surplus items, site restoration, and all other related construction for the proposed lift station. Contractor shall coordinate with District personnel prior to commencing work. All work is to be performed in strict accordance with the guidelines and procedures set forth within the Contract Specifications. This contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: Remove and replace the existing grinder pumps (2) including power cords, guide rails, brackets, valves, fittings, 2" PVC and stainless-steel piping, connections to the existing 2" force main, testing, appurtenances and surface restoration, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Remove and dispose of the existing above ground PVC piping and salvage sump pump for Owner, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Remove the existing 4" PVC vent and install a 4" new vent as shown on the plans, including patching the hole for the existing vent after removal, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Remove and dispose of the existing access ladder and concrete landing, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Furnish and install a 6' x 9' galvanized steel platform including handrail, stairs and concrete landing, and 16-inch dia. reinforced concrete piers (4), all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Remove and replace the existing chain link fence with a new 6-foot-tall chain link fence with 3 strands barbed wire including a 6-foot-wide sing gate, and vinyl slats in the fence and gate, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. Remove and replace the existing electrical equipment and service, including installation of all new electrical equipment and service, all in strict accordance with the plans and specifications. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the Orange County WCID No. 2 or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Orange County WCID NO. 2 reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the Orange County WCID No. 2 for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidders qualifications prior to the contract award.
