** As of December 4,2023 , project was awarded to MJK Construction, Inc, but awarded amount is not available.** Fuel Tank Replacement at Fire Stations 13, 14, and 16 The City of Long Beach is seeking qualified contractors to replace the existing Underground Storage Tank UST-based fueling systems located at Fire Station 13, Fire Station 14 and Fire Station 16 1. Fire Station 13, at 2475 Adriatic Avenue, Long Beach, CA 2. Fire Station 14, at 5200 East Eliot Street, Long Beach, CA 3. Fire Station 16, at 2890 East Wardlow Road, Long Beach CA Questions Due to the City: September 21, 2023 at 11:00am The City reserves the right to modify these dates at any time, with appropriate notice to prospective Contractors. I. FIRE STATION 13 SCOPE OF WORK 1. EXISTING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION A. The UST system to be replaced is located inside Fire Station 13, at 2475 Adriatic Avenue, Long Beach, CA (Appendix A). B. The UST system consists of the following components: (1) 1,000-gallon double wall Steel diesel tank with a dry annular (2) One Gasboy dispenser (3) One steel Bravo UDC (4) Double wall fiberglass product and vent piping (5) Veeder-Root TLS-4 UST monitoring system (6) Veeder-Root overfill alarm (existing to remain) (7) Asset Works Fuel Management card reader terminal (to be re-used) 2. NEW SYSTEM DESCRIPTION A. The new AST system shall be installed as detailed in the new AST site plan. (Appendix B) B. The new system shall include the following major components: (1) One (1) UL-2085 1,000-gallon Diesel fuel AST. (2) The AST willhave an above grade CMUenclosure with access door that meets the requirements in the California Fire Code Chapters 23 and 57. (3) The above grade enclosure willhave a cover to prevent rainwater from getting directly into the enclosure. The cover will not seal the top of the vault and allow for the removal/replacement of tank top equipment. (4) A New Veeder-Root TLS-4 Monitoring Panel. (5) Morrison Brothers system with ground mounted fill line & fill box inside of the curbed area. (6) One (1) hose diesel dispenser with 18' Hose Reel. The dispensing unit willhave an electronic pulser for communication with the Asset Works fuel management system. (7) Construct a concrete containment berm in the fueling area, 2" high x 12" wide. (8) Mount existing Asset Works Fuel Management card reader terminal on the South Side by the front of the station inside a lockable NEMA Box. (9) Install New Veeder-Root sensors and a tank probe as needed. (10) 6" guard posts will be installed on the east and west side of the AST Enclosure.
