The City of Marshall Public Library is accepting bids for roof replacement Description of Work: the existing east side roof on the Library requires replacement. The proposed construction consists of replacement of the existing roof according to specifications. Not less than prevailing rate of wages as found by the Illinois Department of Labor for Clark County, IL or determined by the court on review shall be paid to all workers under this contract. All bids must be accompanied by a Bidder's bond, certified check, bank cashier's check or bank draft payable to the Marshall Public Library for ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid as provided in the Instruction to bidders. Prospective bidders and/or their representatives may inspect the roof of the Library by scheduling a time. Rejection of Bids: The Marshall Public Library Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities. Unless the bids are rejected for good cause, award of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder. Owner further reserves the right to reject the bid of any bidder whom it finds, after reasonable inquiry and evaluation to be unreliable. Owner may also reject the bid of a bidder if the Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of the project to make an award to that bidder. Specifications: 1. Tear off the existing EPDM, wood fiberboard and asphalt roof down to the deck. 2. Mechanically fasten 2 layers of 2.6" ISO to the deck for a total of a R30 R value, using 3" plates and fasteners. 3. Fully adhere a 60 MIL EPDM rubber roofing membrane to the new ISO. 4. Flash all penetrations according to the Manufacturer's specifications. 5. Install new wood blocking where required. 6. Install new drip edge metal on the required edges. 7. Roofing system to carry minimum 20 year manufactures warranty 8. If any bad decking is found replacement cost will be at $_______ per square foot. This will be discussed with the owner before any major repairs are done. 9. All debris will be cleaned up and hauled away. 10. HVAC units will be moved, sealed and reconnected by licensed professional
