New construction of a municipal facility in Richmond, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a five-story above grade municipal facility.
The City of Richmond intends to procure a Construction Manager for pre-construction services for the new Works Yard located at 5599 Lynas Lane. The new Works Yard will be built in three phases over 10 years. Operations will continue throughout construction to ensure we provide uninterrupted service to the community. Current Site Construction Activities: Phase 1 demolition is underway, followed by ground improvements and preload. Phase 1 will include: Relocating staff Repurposing and demolishing identified existing site facilities Constructing a main building, workshops and parking structure Staff Parking Lot Relocation - Completion November 2025 Visitor Parking and Public Services Area Relocation - Estimated Completion Q2 2026 Enabling Works - Estimated Completion Q2 2026 Phase 1 - Estimated Completion 2029 The Works Yard Replacement Project is expected to be completed in 2034, with an estimated timeline of 10 years, following a phased approach (3 phases) to ensure continued operations and uninterrupted service to the community. Council has approved a total of $174 million for the Project Enabling Works and Phase 1, and the proposed form and character design has been developed to be delivered within this approved budget.
