Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Ketchikan, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Accessibility and parking improvements at Houghtaling Field as identified through the 2020 Ketchikan Gateway Borough Fields Usage & Development Study. Work will include: 1) A new accessible trail connecting the restroom to the coach pitch side of the field. The 2014 ADA Transition Plan identified this as an inadequacy of the field. 2) Clear, grub, excavate and fill lands to the north of the field for a new parking lot serving the field. Currently, vehicles park on access roads and the Houghtaling parking lot, creating an unsafe interaction between children and vehicles. This project is included in the Ketchikan Gateway Borough FY 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of September 19, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
