Site work, new construction, renovation and addition to a water / sewer project in Ketchikan, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Per the 2022 Water System Master Plan by TetraTech, the South Tongass Water Treatment Plant needs to increase its treatment capacity, and the existing facility is approaching functional obsolescence due to changes in seismic codes in the past thirty-five years. FY2024 will include further engineering to determine the most economically viable location and method for water treatment in the South Tongass Service Area and prepare Preliminary Engineering Review studies for potential grant opportunities. As of September 18, 2023, Project is in the capital improvement plan (CIP) for FY2024-2028.
