Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in San Mateo, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; for the construction of a pre-engineered storage facility; pre-engineered storage facility; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Location and Description. The Project is located at 50 East 5th Avenue, San Mateo, CA and is described as follows: Demolition of existing play equipment, pathways, restroom building, and trees; Water pollution control and site protection measures; Tree removal and protection measures; Construct new custom play equipment and safety surfacing, new pre- engineered restroom, new picnic structure and concrete pad, new pedestrian pavements, raised boardwalk, water feature, fencing, site furnishings, irrigation, planting, site utilities (water, sewer), signage, lighting and other specified improvements; Construct new utility service connection in ROW of El Camino Real, State Route 82, under Encroachment Permit and jurisdiction of California Department of Transportation; Traffic and pedestrian control throughout construction. Bid Security. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee thatwithin ten days after City issues the Notice of Potential Award, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, insurance certificates and endorsements, and any other submittals required by the Contract Documents and as specified in the Notice of Potential Award. Performance and Payment Bonds. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price, as further specified in the Contract Documents. Contractors wishing to be prequalified for the work described in this Request for Qualifications shall possess a CSLB License Class A - General Engineering Contractor and/or Class C-27 - Landscaping Contractor. Time for Final Completion. The Project must be fully completed within 548 calendar days from the start date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. City anticipates that the Work will begin on or about December 2, 2024, but the anticipated start date is provided solely for convenience and is neither certain nor binding. Questions or requests for clarifications regarding the Project, the bid procedures, or any of the Contract Documents must be submitted in writing to King Leong, Project Manager at kleong@cityofsanmateo.org. Oral responses are not authorized and are not binding on the City. Bidders should submit any such written inquiries no later thanAugust 9, 2024, 3:00 p.m., before the scheduled bid opening. Questions received any later might not be addressed before the bid deadline. An interpretation or clarification by City in response to a written inquiry will be issued in an addendum.
