The work, as outlined within these Specifications, consists of furnishing all materials, labour, supervision, equipment, and performing all work necessary for sewer video inspection and reporting, sewer flushing, roots and service lateral cutting and related services as required. Work will be performed on sanitary, storm and combined gravity sewer lines. The City averages approximately 40,000 lineal meters of sewer lines per year that require video inspection. Additionally, the City requires inspection of service lateral from the main sewer line, estimated at 100 hours per year and special video services estimated at 300 hours per year. Certain of these sewer line sections require flushing prior to inspection. The City may choose to have the flushing work completed by City staff prior to inspection for some sewers. The Supplier will complete sewer flushing for an estimated 550 hours per year and root and lateral cutting services for an estimated 15 hours per year. An estimated 10 hours for confined space services will be required annually along with 8 days for the rental of confined space equipment. Finally, an estimated 2,500 person hours for traffic control services will be required annually. Requested services may be for a single sewer line section or several sections altogether, such as those on an entire street. These estimates are representative of the work completed by the City during the previous twelve (12) months and expected future work. Quantity will vary depending on emergency work, streets in the Capital Works program and sewer studies. The proposed term of the agreement is for a twelve (12) month period, commencing from the date of award. The City may exercise an option to renew the agreement for up to three (3) additional twelve (12) month periods (for a total of four (4) years), if it is in the City's best interest to do so. The City of Moncton wishes to retain the services of a professional, licensed and experienced firm to provide all work necessary for sewer video inspection and reporting, sewer flushing, roots and service lateral cutting and related services as required.
