The Municipal District of Taber (“the Owner”) requests a tender to conduct remedial activities at a former landfill site that operated from the 1950s to 1970s located within SW 22-010-13 W4M on the north side of the Hamlet of Grassy Lake, Alberta. The Work to be undertaken generally involves, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: Mobilization and demobilization of equipment to site, site safety, and all other temporary works and facilities. Decommissioning of eight existing shallow groundwater monitoring wells. Stripping and stockpiling of approximately 0.60 m of topsoil and clean overburden over an area of approximately 2,100 m2. Material to be stockpiled separately. Excavating, loading, hauling, and landfill disposal of approximately 2,000 m3 of former landfill waste consisting primarily of inert materials (wood, metal, and glass). Loading, hauling, and compaction with clean imported fill material and replacing overburden. Replacement of topsoil, recontouring excavations to match existing grade, and re-seeding.
