Notice is hereby given that the Stormwater Board of the City of Portage, Portor County, Indiana, intends to award a contract for its Vivian Street/Carmen Street/Shawnee Street Drainage Improvements Project. The scope of the project includes all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete this project within the City of Portage as follows: The Vivian Street, Carmen Street, & Shawnee Street Drainage Improvements Project includes concrete and pipe removal, common excavation, mailbox and sign removal and resetting, grading work, roadway reconstruction, storm sewer installation, undistributed undercutting, tack coat, concrete driveway construction, HMA paving, concrete curb, installation and maintenance of erosion control devices, and access on all subdivision streets and approach roadways. It is important to the City the work be conducted in a timely, organized, and sequential manner. The successful bidder must be prepared to commit adequate resources to complete the Work within the stated contract schedule. with the Indiana Public Works on any local public works project estimated to be over three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000). Contractors will not be required to be project if the contract to be awarded is less than three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000); and the local unit of government complies with IC 36- 1-12 in awarding the contract for the information and applications can be found at the link. All Bidders should submit any questions in writing to Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LLC, 220 West Colfax Avenue, Suite 700, South Bend, IN 46601 by mail or email to Andy Gebhard, PE at agebhard@ cbbel-in.com and Luke Sherry, PE at lsherry@cbbel.com . Questions shall be received no later than 5:00 PM (CDT) on Friday, September 8, 2023. Responses (as required) will be provided by no later than 5:00 PM (CDT) on Monday, September 11, 2023. Engineer will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such Addenda as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions arising. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the Project name marked clearly on the outside. Bids shall be executed and submitted on the forms provided by the City including a Bid security, Indiana State Board of Accounts Form E-Verify Documentation, Iran Invest- with the Indiana Public Works Cer- or bank draft payable to the City of Portage, or bid bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable surety in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid Price shall be submitted with the Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish, execute, of Insurance and satisfactory performance and payment bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the Bid Price to guarantee the faithful performance of the Work and payment of suppliers and subcontractors within seven (7) days of the Notice of Award. Contractors must be shown on the Bidder's Planholder List in order to bid. Bids received by Contractors who are not on the Bidder's Planholder List may be rejected. The City of Portage reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and the right to waive informalities in the best interest of the City.
