Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Lompoc, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
PROJECT: 21S1 GENERAL WORK DESCRIPTION: The work includes but is not necessarily limited to the following: Furnishing, hauling, placing, compacting, and grading of material; preparing subgrade for Portland cement concrete (PCC) and hot mix asphalt (HMA); furnishing and constructing ADA compliant PCC sidewalk, curb ramps, curb, curb & gutter, bulb-outs, and appurtenant work to match existing; grinding PCC improvements; installing detectable warning surface tiles on PCC improvements; sawcutting, removals, and disposal; finish grading; clean-up and related work as required, to complete the work as specified by these Special Provisions, including plan exhibits, the Standard Plans and Specifications For Public Works Construction (Greenbook) 2021 edition, and the City Standard Requirements. CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE: The City anticipates executing the contract between November 6 and November 10, 2023; holding the pre-construction meeting between November 13 and December 22, 2023; and issuing Notice to Proceed between November 20, 2023 and January 8, 2024. QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO THIS PROJECT PRIOR TO CONTRACT AWARD SHALL BE DIRECTED TO: City of Lompoc, Engineering Division, 100 Civic Center Plaza, California 93436; Attention: Joshua Leard, P.E., Civil Engineering Associate III; Telephone (805) 736-1261, Extension 8261; or email: j_leard@ci.lompoc.ca.us. BONDS: Each proposal must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashiers check, or bidders bond of the prescribed form and made payable to the City of Lompoc for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, such guaranty to be forfeited, should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to furnish the required bonds and to enter into a contract with the City within the period of time provided by the Proposal Requirements. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: In accordance with provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300, the City has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid Class A or C-8 License at the time of award. The Contractor shall be properly licensed at the time the contract is awarded. No contract will be awarded from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9 of Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. ENGINEER'S COST ESTIMATE: The Design Engineer has calculated an estimate of probable construction costs for this project. The City does not wish to publicize the engineer's estimate of the project cost since this information may tend to influence the number and nature of bids received. However, for bidder's convenience, the City will publicize that the engineer's estimate for the base bid falls within a range of $50,000 - $100,000
