Construction of South Grand Prairie Parkway from Grand Avenue to south of Raccoon River Drive as part of Microsoft`s Ginger West development. Construction of South Grand Prairie Parkway will include an overpass over Raccoon River Drive and the Iowa Interstate Railroad. South Grand Prairie Parkway (major arterial) will ultimately be a six-lane divided urban roadway, but only three lanes will be constructed as part of the initial construction. The project will also include the construction of a jug handle connection from South Grand Prairie Parkway to Raccoon River Drive as well as partial reconstruction of Raccoon River Drive to accommodate turn lanes for the jug handle. The project will include grading, paving, storm sewer, fiber, multi-use trail, and other miscellaneous work. This project is included in the city's fiscal year 2023-2024 Capital Improvement Program. As of September 12, 2023, the contractor has been selected and currently under construction; however, the firm construction and completion timeline was not released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
