Site work for a water / sewer project in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Construction of the South Service Area Segment 8 Sewer including approximately 5,232 linear feet of 24-inch sanitary sewer, 5,078 linear feet of 18-inch sanitary sewer, 470 linear feet of 12-inch sanitary sewer, 40 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer, excavation, backfill, manholes, connections to existing sewer, and miscellaneous work. This sewer will ultimately provide sewer service to the proposed Iowa National Guard Readiness Center near SE Maffitt Lake Road & Veterans Parkway. This project is included in the city's fiscal year 2023-2024 Capital Improvement Program. As of September 12, 2023, a contractor has been selected and currently under construction. The completion timeline is scheduled for July 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
