Site work and new construction of a medical facility in Austin, Texas. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.
The 88th Texas Legislature appropriated $120 Million for the design and construction of 50-Bed Maximum Security Facility at the Rio Grande Center Campus, $50 Million for the design, initial construction and land acquisition of a 50-Bed Non-Maximum-Security-Facility in El Paso, Texas and $121 Million for the design and construction of 50-Bed Maximum Security Facility in Lubbock, Texas. HHSC is soliciting the services listed herein in accordance with Texas Government Code Chapter 2254, Subchapter A, the Professional Services Procurement Act. HHSC is requesting qualifications from professional design firms to provide complete programming, design, including furniture, furnishings, and equipment (FFE) design, and associated Construction Administration services for the design and construction of the three projects described below. Project 24-203-RSC (Project 1). Project 1 is a new 50-Bed Maximum Security Facility at Rio Grande Center Campus in Harlingen, Texas. The new facility will have patient living and sleeping areas, therapy and treatment areas, clinical program areas, staff program areas, administration program areas and all the support services that are necessary to support the patient and staff needs. A mandatory requirement of Project 1 is the assessment of existing campus utilities, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and capacities for implementation of the design to extend the useful life of the new building(s) for more than 50 years. Site improvements to existing campus drives, parking, ramps, sidewalks, landscaping, landscape irrigation and campus utilities shall be implemented, as necessary, to accomplish the intended goals of Project 1. Project 24-204-EPC (Project 2). Project 2 is a new 50-Bed Non-Maximum-Security Facility in El Paso, Texas. The new facility will have patient living and sleeping areas, therapy and treatment areas, clinical program areas, staff program areas, administration program areas and all the support services that are necessary to support the patient and staff needs. HHSC is yet to acquire land for this 50-Bed Non-Maximum-Security facility hospital and the design scope may also encompass due diligence on the site selection and analysis. The construction funds for this facility are not appropriated by the Legislature at this time. A mandatory requirement of the Project 2 is the assessment of selected site including all the existing site utilities, hazardous materials etc. as applicable to the selected site. Site improvements to existing drives, parking, ramps, sidewalks, landscaping, landscape irrigation and campus utilities shall be implemented, as necessary, to accomplish the Project's intended goals. Project 24-205-LBH (Project 3). Project 3: Project 3 is a new 50-Bed Maximum Security Facility in Lubbock, Texas. The new facility will have patient living and sleeping areas, therapy and treatment areas, clinical program areas, staff program areas, administration program areas and all the support services that are necessary to support the patient and staff needs. HHSC is yet to select site for this 50-Bed Maximum-Security facility hospital and the design scope may also encompass due diligence on the site selection and analysis.
