BC Parks, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, is seeking a qualified and experienced Contractor to complete a Karst Inventory and Risk Assessment (the "Assessment") within Moksgm'ol/Chapple Cornwall Conservancy in preparation for a forestry road deactivation and rehabilitation project. The project will be completed in the southern portion of the Conservancy where there are approximately 15.5 kms of historical forestry roads and old cutblocks that overlap with a known area of karst. The Assessment will help to identify the karst catchment area, key karst values, potential values at risk, and areas where rehabilitation may be required due to past harvesting activities. The Assessment will help to inform discussions for the separate deactivation/rehabilitation project and will support the development of a deactivation/rehabilitation prescription that considers important karst values. The Assessment work will include background research, a field visit in October or November 2023 (to coincide with road prescription work), participation in project meetings, and the development of a final report.
