This project involves the reconstruction of an existing concrete/stone retaining wall along Althauser Street near 902 Althauser St. The estimated quantity for new reinforced concrete retaining wall is 80 CY. Additionally, the project includes HMA pavement in the street and PCC pavement in the driveway. There is a small amount of chain link fence to be removed and replaced in the yard below the retaining wall. All disturbed turf is to be dressed and seeded. The project has two alternates. Alternate 1 is for a plain faced PCC concrete retaining wall. Alternate 2 is for a PCC concrete retaining wall that has a textured face using a formliner. The pattern of the face is to simulate large limestone block a minimum of 12" high. Each Bidder must accompany its Bid with a Bid security as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a contract for the work Bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety Bond, acceptable to the governmental entity, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The Bid security must be in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the contract and must be in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a state-chartered or federally chartered credit union, or the Bidder may provide a Bid Bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the governmental entity. The Bid Bond must contain no conditions except as provided in this section. Work on the Project must be commenced within ten (10) calendar days after the Notice to Proceed has been issued and shall be fully completed by November 15, 2023.
