Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Centre, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.

Phase One Renovations to the Centre Gymnasium The bidder shall file with his bid either a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank, payable to the City of Centre, Alabama, or a bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make such bonds in Alabama, in an amount equal to the lesser of five percent (5%) of the bid or ten thousand ($10,000). Scope of Work includes, Phase One renovations of the existing Centre Gymnasium (former Centre Middle School Gym) into a new Community Gymnasium located on the City's Property at 350 E. Main Street, Centre, AL. The Work consists generally of selective demolition of existing finishes, new gymnasium flooring, wood base, new mechanical ventilation fans and louvers, new lighting, power and fire alarm systems, new wall finishes (T-111 plywood wainscot and new P.E.M.B. liner panel extensions) and wood trim and painting of new and existing surfaces in the gymnasium. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for the satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond or Bond in the amount required by Section 39-1-1(a), Code of Alabama 1975, and evidence of insurance as required by the bid documents within ten (10) days after being notified that he has been awarded the contract. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of forty-five (45) days. The successful bidder will provide proof of enrollment in the Federal E-Verify Program and in compliance with the Beason-Hammon Act (Act 2011-535). The bidder must comply with all requirements of the public works bid law Section 39-2-1 et seq., Code of Alabama 1975. All other trades shall have completed their work prior to the installation of the resilient athletic flooring
