Bidders must submit security in the form of a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid; made payable to the Town of Lexington. There will not be a Pre-Bid Conference for this project. The successful contractor shall pay the cost and furnish within ten days after written notice of acceptance of Bid, an irrevocable Surety in the form of a Performance and Payment Bond, Certificate of Deposit, Cashier's Check or irrevocable letter of credit. The Surety shall be issued in the amount of 100% of the total contract covering the entire term of the contract as awarded. The Town of Lexington reserves the right to reject any bid that contains prices for individual items or services that are inconsistent or unrealistic when compared to other prices in the same or other bids or ambiguous bids which are uncertain as to terms, delivery, quantity, or compliance with specifications may be rejected or otherwise disregarded if such action is in the best interest of the Town. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
