Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Haines, Alaska. Working plans call for site work for a transportation facility; for paving for a transportation facility; and water / sewer project.
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), is proposing upgrades to the Haines Airport in Haines, Alaska. Proposed upgrades include rehabilitation of the airport and construction of a snow removal equipment building and are being funded under two separate project numbers. The proposed project includes the following: o Rehabilitate Runway (RW) 8/26 o Rehabilitate Taxiways (TW) A, D, and E and portions of TWs C and B o Construct a taxilane between the edge of the general aviation apron and helipad o Reconstruct helipad o Improve drainage including modifications to existing culverts and ditching o Replace edge lighting, airfield directional signage, conduits, and electrical conductors o Replace and relocate the airport rotational beacon o Construct a snow removal equipment building (SREB) If you have any questions or require additional information about the project prior to the meeting, please contact the DOT&PF Design Project Manager, Brett Wells, PE, at (907) 465-1607 or Joseph Galgano, Environmental Analyst, at (907) 465-4447.
