This Request for Supplier Qualifications ("RFSQ") is an invitation by the Halifax Regional Water Commission ("Halifax Water") to prospective respondents to qualify for eligibility to provide Fairview Cove Trunk Sewer by Microtunnel as further described in Section A of the RFSQ Particulars (Appendix A) (the "Deliverables"). The prequalified proponents from "RFQ06.2020 Fairview Cove Trunk Sewer Microtunnel" remain valid & will be added to the roaster list of this project. This will be applicable to only those prequalified proponents who have submitted us a letter confirming that there has been no change in their submittal status. This RFSQ for the Fairview Cove Trunk Sewer by Microtunnel prequalification may also be used by Halifax Water as an open roster for future tunneling projects of similar nature over the next three (3) years). The purpose of this Request for Qualifications ("RFSQ") is for the Halifax Regional Water Commission (Halifax Water) to solicit statements of interest and qualifications from interested respondents ("Respondents") for the construction of the Fairview Cove Trunk Sewer (the "Project") in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Project includes approximately 750 m of 1500 mm ID reinforced concrete pipe to be installed by microtunnelling, comprising two (2) drives, at depths up to 20 m below ground surface. Halifax Water has adopted a two-stage process for the award of the construction of the Project. Stage 1: Request for Supplier Qualifications (RFSQ) for microtunnel contractors Stage 2: Request for Tenders (RFT) or Request for Quotation (RFQ) where only pre-qualified microtunnel contractors shall be permitted to Bid and undertake the microtunnel work either as the General Contractor or as a named Sub-contractor. Prequalification and Tendering for microtunnelling contractors is expected to occur in Fall 2023 with construction to follow in early 2024. Site visits will be held during tendering.
