Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) to interested firms to conduct public outreach and provide final conceptual design services for an integrated all-abilities playground system into Chilpancingo Park. The goal for the public outreach and design services is to obtain input from a wide array of community members that may be interested in the project, neighbors, and park users. The final conceptual design should incorporate input from the public. That process will produce a final conceptual park design that includes all the amenities that would be required to support the playground (landscaping, accessibility/path of travel, benches, etc.) and fits into the park without conflicting with the existing uses and amenities. The final conceptual design development phase, the subject of this RFP, should also include an Initial Study of environmental impacts of the project, identify estimated project costs, and produce a fully developed final conceptual design so the District can proceed with construction documents once funding is secured for that phase. Upon successful completion of the final conceptual design development phase and depending on the availability of funding, the District may direct the Consultant to complete the next phase (construction documents for public bidding process). As part of the RFP process, the Consultant should develop an "Approach to Work". The approach to work should reflect how the Consultant anticipates meeting the above goal. The "Scope of Work" included with this RFP should provide an outline of the anticipated tasks; however, the District anticipates the final "Scope of Work" will be developed with the assistance of the selected consultant. The negotiated fee for services will be based upon the final "Scope of Work" agreed upon between the District and selected consultant. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
