Lake Tomahawk Dam is an earthen dam in Black Mountain, North Carolina located along the southern edge of Lake Tomahawk. The dam is classified as a High Hazard Dam. Minor seepage is occurring following the removal of a tree on the embankment in 2014. Erosion and sediment control, toe drain and blanket drain construction, articulating concrete block overtopping protection, and earthworks construction will be constructed. All questions for this solicitation were answered via addendums which are available on the Town's website. There is no new question/answer period for this bid re-advertisement. Bids will be received on a Lump Sum Price basis with Unit Price rates for additional undercut and acquisition of offsite borrow material, if needed, as described in the Contract Documents. Lump Sum Price does not include sales tax. Taxes shall be itemized on any invoice. The Bidder is required to make positive efforts to use small and minority-owned businesses in accordance with North Carolina law and as expressly stated in the Bidding Documents. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities in the Bidding process and to reject any or all Bids, subject to the laws and regulations of the State of North Carolina. The Town of Black Mountain is not liable for costs associated with preparation of the bid.
