The work consists of spring planting of approximately 340,000 seedlings on approximately 25 blocks over 200 hectares. The start of the season will be weather dependent but usually starts in mid April and ends June 21, 2024. Most blocks are fill plants. The work is within the Selkirk Resource District; locations will range from Slocan, Rossland, Castlegar, Salmo and surrounding areas. Approximately 44,000 'tea bag' fertilizers will be installed on certain fill plants. Fertilizer packs will be 'coated' and may be planted in the same hole as the seedling or with 5cm inches upslope of the seedling. All contract related questions must be submitted in writing ONLY to the following email address: Forests.KootenayTimberSalesOffice@gov.bc.ca. Deadline for receiving questions is 12:00 pm on October 11, 2023. If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by October 12, 2023.
