Reference Number 0000256592 Question Acceptance Deadline 2023/09/28 04:00:00 PM CDT a.Snow clearing activities are to take place as requested by the University. The University will be responsible for monitoring snow fall and accumulation to determine when clearing operations are required. b. Remove snow and ice when requested by plowing, blowing, shoveling or other suitable means not harmful to paved traffic surfaces. Follow with hand tools if necessary. c. Clear snow and ice to full width of pavement or as directed by Brandon University. d. Apply sand and/or crushed rock chips when requested by the University to roadways and parking entrance ramps where unsafe and emergency hazardous conditions exist. 2. Stockpiling & Disposal a. Snow may be stockpiled in areas on site designated by the University. Stockpile locations are indicated on the map included in Appendix D. b. Limit stockpile height to the maximum height of 15 feet or at a lower height if requested by the University. i. When a stockpile reaches 15 feet, it shall be moved to the greenspace area indicated on the map in Appendix D. c. Position and manage stockpiled snow to ensure that stockpiled snow does not interfere with pedestrian safety and pedestrian walkways and vehicle visibility. d. When the greenspace stockpile is full and upon request from the University, the Contractor shall load, transport and dump the snow from the greenspace at an approved municipal disposal site or snow dump. The contract term will be for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 snow clearing seasons. The contract may be extended for the 2025/2026 snow clearing season on similar conditions at the written request of the University and upon written acceptance of the successful Bidder.
