As of October 17, 2024, information regarding the award and award date has not been disclosed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The District of Columbia, Office of Contracting and Procurement, for and on behalf of the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT), pursuant to the Procurement Practices Reform Act of 2010, and the Procurement Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability Amendment Act of 2016, is issuing this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to solicit Statements of Qualifications (SOQ's) from experienced firms (Offerors) interested in providing Design Services for Streetscape Design for Black Lives Matter Plaza. This contract is funded with District of Columbia funds (Locally Funded). Purpose: to accentuate Black Lives Matter Plaza as a place of local, national, and international importance as a symbol of the struggle for racial justice. This will be done by extending the existing plaza from the street into the sidewalk and landscaped public parking (see definitions) through implementation of a cohesive streetscape and series of commemorative works. Scope: The Offeror will design a streetscape for the 15-foot sidewalk zone and public parking zone on the east and west sides of 16th Street NW between K Street NW and H Street NW. The streetscape should be cohesive and have a distinct identity; complement the continuous urban design of the 16th Street corridor; integrate relevant streetscape guidelines; consider, recommend, and incorporate a variety of spaces for multiple uses; and reflect the local and national importance of the space. The Offeror will identify six (6) locations within the public parking for commemorative works; and design platforms for the commemorative works. Place: Black Lives Matter Plaza (16th Street NW from K Street NW to H Street NW) Period of Performance: 12 months
