UPDATE : This project will plan, design, and construct a new Community Center at Mercer St. and 8th Ave North. This project was approved by City Council as a public benefit in the sale of City-owned property at that location. The developer provides the space (25-year lease with up to 15 additional years through two options) with the City responsible for tenant improvements (estimated at ~$17 million) and an ongoing commitment to operate the facility. As of October 3, 2023, this project is included in the City of Seattle's Fiscal Year 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding is allotted for FY 2024 and FY 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
