(1) - Rt 42, Kennedy Ave to Atlantic City Expressway Resurfacing (Construction Inspection C-6 Level A) Rt. 42, Kennedy Ave to Atlantic City Expressway Resurfacing Monroe Twp and Washington Twp Gloucester County Location(s) Gloucester, New Jersey Each firm participating in the Joint Venture must be prequalified by the NJDOT The Rt 42, Kennedy Ave to Atlantic City Expressway Resurfacing Project will include milling and resurfacing to improve pavement life and rideability from MP 3.40 – MP 6.60 NB and MP 3.40 – MP 6.10 SB. Travel lanes and shoulders will be widened, where necessary, to meet the minimum standards for lane and shoulder widths. The curb ramps and sidewalks will be reconstructed, where needed, to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Additional inlets, drainage pipes, manufactured treatment devices, and headwalls will be installed to improve the storm drainage system. New surface and underground basins will be installed to comply with the NJDEP Storm Water Management Rule. This project includes intersection improvements, including traffic signal equipment replacements, at ten signalized intersections within the Rt 42 Project Limits to accommodate proposed roadway configuration and pedestrians. The ten traffic signal intersections will also be synchronized to improve the flow of traffic. The ITS System will be improved with three new ITS cameras to be installed.
