The City has the right to reject any or all Quotes and to reject a Quote not accompanied by data required by the Bidding Documents, or to reject a Quote which is in any way incomplete or irregular. Informal Bid Flag: Yes 1. Each Quote shall be accomplished by a copy of the bid bond as per the requirements of the Standard Contract Requirements for Public Works Contract. The original bid bond must be mailed to the Procurement Department within 48 hours and postmarked with date of the closing of the bid. 2. Bid Bond shall be issued on form included within the attachments in the bid solicitation on PHLContract. A. Bond Requirements: Seller shall furnish bonds covering the faithful Performance of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising there under per the requirements of the Standard Contract Requirements and other requirements of the Bidding Documents. MBE - 15%-17% WBE - 10%-12% Furnish enough equipment, manpower, and work sufficient shifts to complete the entire Project within: 270 consecutive work days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. No allowance will be made for days during which work may be suspended due to weather or for any other condition not provided for inthe Standard Contract Requirements. This work consists of the maintenance and protection of traffic for all traveled roadways within the construction area in accordance with PDT Publication 213, Section 901 of PDT 408, the drawings, the pavement marking handbooks and these special provisions. This work includes providing for temporary pavement markings, temporary roadway lighting, temporary signals, lane striping, pedestrian walkways, flashers, flashing arrow boards, traffic cones, flagmen, delineators, barricades, temporary signs and all materials, equipment and labor necessary for the acceptable maintenance and protection of traffic as indicated on the drawings, or directed by the Engineer. II. 901.3 CONSTRUCTION - Add the following: Pursue the work in a logical and expeditious manner with minimal period of disruption. In order to fulfill the intent of this requirement, Coordinate activities with all other contractors and public utility companies operating in the area; Provide for the safe and orderly movement of pedestrians through the work area; Provide for emergency, City sanitation, and delivery vehicle traffic through the work areas; The following restrictions are implemented: Police assistance is required during any occupancy in a travel lane within the following boundaries: South of Spring Garden Street; North of South Street; West of Delaware River; East of Schuylkill River Contact Police Traffic Unit, at 215-685-1554 at least 24 hours prior to the start of work when police assistance is required. Contact SEPTA 48 hours in advance if any service disruptions are anticipated. Schedule work near schools during summer break months. Open all existing travel lanes to traffic during non-working hours. Maximum vertical drop-off due to these operations is 1 1/2 ". This work consists of furnishing and placing new 6" wide granite curb, curved or straight, of the width specified, at locations indicated by the Engineer. II. MATERIALThe granite is of approved quality , free from structural defects, the width indicated, not less than sixteen (16) inches in depth, in sections of not less than four (4) feet nor more than nine (9) feet in length, and has have the following properties: Color: Light Gray to Bluish Gray Grain: Fine Grain Compressive Strength : 31,000 psi Flexural Strength : 1,600 psi Modules of Rupture : 2,000 psi Absorption by Weight : 0.26 % max. Saw the top surface to a true plane with a 1/4-inch radius rounded front edge, with no projection or depression greater than 1/8-inch. The pitch of the back arris line is straight and true with no variation from a straight line greater than 1/4-inch. Square cut the ends with the planes of the top , back and face that when finished the sections are placed end to end with the required minimum spacing of 1/4-inch. The front and back faces are at right angles to the top, smooth, quarry split with no projections of over 3/4-inch or other irregularities and defects. Saw the bottom surface to a true plane with no projection or depression greater than 1/8- inch. Drawings indicate depressions for sidewalk ramps and or driveways.
