As of May 22, 2025, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Volusia County, Solid Waste Division is located at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road, Port Orange, Florida. The Tomoka Farms Road Landfill facility has been in operation since 1978 and continues to be utilized for Volusia County's Solid waste disposal operations. The Class I Landfill Southeast Expansion project area is located on the Tomoka Farms Road facility directly south of the currently operating Class I and Class III landfills. Volusia County is seeking the services of a qualified and licensed professional to provide engineering services for solid waste design and permitting for the Tomoka Farms Road Landfill, Class I Southeast Expansion area, approximately 270 acres. The services will also include a construction level design for cells 1A and 1B, approximately 23.26 acres. Question Deadline 10/12/2023 at 12:00 PM ET The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received as a result of this RSQ, or to negotiate separately with competing Respondents, and to waive any informalities, defects, or irregularities in any proposal, or to accept that proposal or proposals, which in the judgment of the proper officials, is in the best interest of the County.
