Demolition, new construction and renovation of a medical facility in Burnaby, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility; for the demolition of a medical facility; and for the construction of a 462,240-square-foot medical facility.

The purpose of this request for qualifications (RFQ) is to invite interested parties to submit Responses indicating their interest in, and qualifications for, the Burnaby Hospital Phase 2 and BC Cancer Centre (Project). Based on these Responses, Fraser Health Authority (Owner) intends to select, in accordance with the terms of this RFQ, a shortlist of up to three Proponents to be invited to participate in the next stage of the Single Target Outturn Cost (Single TOC) Alliance Selection Process, the Request for Proposals (RFP) stage. The Project is expected to include: New Build: An inpatient tower with 160 private patient rooms; A Loading Zone; A Medical Imaging Department; A Morgue and Autopsy Department; A BC Cancer Centre; Staff Facilities/ Public Spaces/ Equipment Depot/Facilities Maintenance / Education spaces; At grade and underground parking; Renovations to existing buildings (including internal demolition): Emergency Department East (Level 3 Support Facilities Building); Emergency Department West (Level 3 Support Facilities Building); Endoscopy Suite (Level 4 Nursing Tower); and Demolition of the West Wing Buildings The Project consists of the construction of a new tower, integrated cancer centre, and two levels of underground parking on the BH campus site (approximately 42,800 square metres). In addition to the new construction, the Project includes the demolition of the existing BH West Wing and North Wing buildings (West Wing Buildings) and renovations to existing buildings. Features of this business opportunity include: The design and construction of a new inpatient tower with 160 private patient rooms; The design and construction of a new cancer centre and medical imaging suite; Renovation to levels 1 and 3 of the Support Facilities Building and level 4 of the Nursing Tower; The opportunity to address a critical infrastructure need for the Owner; Strong government and public support for the Project; and A collaborative RFP process in which shortlisted teams will have the opportunity to align on the provisions of the agreements with the Owner
